Here to stand out.

Lac Nguyen is a second-year Advertisement and Sustainable Business student at the University of Oregon (UO). His love for the photographic process in fashion advertising campaigns transforms his camera lens from a simple tool to a translator of visual narratives. Since his start at the UO, he has fallen in love with the utilization of 35mm film — in both color and black-and-white — to illuminate shoots in publications such as Align Magazine and OR Magazine. These efforts to incorporate more 35mm film in such magazines have expanded their catalogue to new visual mediums.

Moreover, his devotion to graphic design can be noted through university affiliated social media accounts such as the Holden Center for Leadership and Community Engagement.

He speaks the language of images. His fluency in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom) complements his piercing eye for ornate poses and environments in editorial photography. Additionally, his work at Align Magazine as an art director and photographer has gifted him a toolbox to effectively organize numerous staff and provide visual direction and aesthetics for prints and publications.

Nguyen is a Summit Scholarship recipient and has achieved the UO’s Dean’s List for the past four terms. Currently, he is enhancing his public-speaking and organizational skills as a participant at the Holden Center’s Emerging Leadership Project Cohort. In his free time, he enjoys developing his portfolio through 35mm editorials of peers and designing graphics for garment printing and embroidery. .
